About APEX
Through the Convention Industry Council and the Accepted Practices Exchange (APEX), the meeting industry has spearheaded new best practices and voluntary standards. With APEX being industry developed and industry, we can all revolutionize the meetings conventions, and exhibitions industry. Regardless of the processes uses or technology available, all planners and suppliers can benefit from APEX.

APEX Green Meetings - CDGs Open for Participation
As a part of the APEX initiative, City Discussion Groups (CDGs) are events akin to town hall meetings. CDGs are a vital part of the development of accepted industry practices for the meeting, convention, and exhibition industry. These groups will meet throughout the development of accepted practices to review and comment upon the recommendations of the Green Meetings and Events Practice Panel, whose work will culminate in the formation of Green Meeting and Events Voluntary Standards. CDGs offer industry members an opportunity to participate publicly in the dialogue and action that will help shape the development of the standard.
Virtual Discussion Site on Green Meeting Standards Open for Comment
The first three topic areas of the APEX/ASTM Green Meeting and Events Standard are available for review and comment on a new blog site http://wp.apexsolution.org/. Those drafts are the work of the Destinations, Meeting Venue and Transportation Committees. When the new standard is complete, there will be nine categories in total. Other catagories expected to be ready for public comment by early June include: Accommodations, AV, Communication, Food and Beverage, Exhibits and Onsite Office. Anyone interested in green meeting practices are invited to participate in this very important effort to develop best practices for green meetings and events!
